BPM As a Service: Headless BPM in the Cloud
In contrast with traditional BPM applications where the process (and process centers) are at the heart of the solution, Headless BPM provides the flexibility to leverage the power of BPM solutions while freeing up the User Experience to be whatever the business requires.
At Cedrus, our experience in designing and implementing BPM Solutions goes back to 15+ years. Having been involved in some of the most complex Process Re-engineering projects in Finance and Healthcare, our customers always faced the trade-off between the power of BPM and the flexibility of a Design Thinking based approach where the Business dictates the experience that they see fit.
The democratization of BPM solutions and their availability on most of the Clouds, jointly with the standardization on the API as an intermediary between Application Interfaces and backends, implementing a “BPM As a Service” becomes a reality that is cost effective, powerful and flexible enough to satisfy all participants in a business process.
Our expertise on BPM, UEx technologies, mobile development and product creation allowed us to create products, architectures and code assets to ease the design and implementation of such solutions. Mixing IBM Watson Image recognition, as an example, with an Auto Claim Process would help expediting the processing of the claim by recognizing the insured individual’s vehicle through a photo sent from a mobile device.

DreamFace for IBM BPM
BPM projects are recognized as strategic by most organizations, however with their complexity they often prove to be time-intensive and expensive. One challenge businesses often face is to create a compelling user experience for the workflow, in particular the human tasks. DreamFace for IBM BPM delivers an uncompromised, BPM-enabled, user interface for Web and Mobile applications – far exceeding other solutions in the market. Organizations gain a rich, robust, easy-to-use tool with accelerators for creating BPM applications. DreamFace for IBM BPM comes with ready-to-use, data-enabled visual BPM components and automatically “discovers” the BPM processes and generates data-enabled visual components that can be used in the drag-and-drop interface to create composite applications that call the BPM services. Our approach is to enable the process to behave as an API-driven process where the process backend reacts to interactions from users coming from a variety of applications, devices, and contexts including the standard ways delivered through the vendor’s “process portal”. This approach is key to enabling the processes for the Cloud and the Web and, hence, widening their adoption and usage across the company and its partners and customers.

Limitless SalesForce: Empowering SalesForce with Enterprise extensions
With the dominance of SalesForce as a CRM, and beyond, companies are looking to SF as the platform from which they can execute multiple Business services. Extending SF to virtually any Enterprise Service, while staying in SF and without heavy data synchronization efforts is a very efficient solution Using SalesForce as the primary “portal” to launch in-context app, within SalesForce, is the key advantage to this solution.
Customer Service reps, Help Desk, Portfolio managers are all candidate profiles that can start their transaction from Salesforce and do not wish to access a multitude of systems, logins and copy/paste to ensure customer satisfaction At Cedrus, our expertise in integration, micro-apps building (leveraging Cloud, API and modern UEx technologies) have all came together to provide an out-of-the box ready framework that can: Easily be used to develop in-context micro-apps (or business views), and deploy them natively on the SalesForce DreamForce platform The micro-apps can virtually run on any PaaS: DreamForce, AWS or IBM Bluemix.
These apps can integrate, by way of events in/out, to any standard SalesForce service or View making them run “natively” withing the SalesForce interface The micro-apps can embed any logic, call any API or service from the Enterprise assets: BMP processes, Mainframe access, API’s, DataBases access, etc. A single authentication can pass down from SalesForce to the micro-apps avoiding the user the need to sign-in/sign-out to the variety of systems and, hence, providing an overall better service and a higher efficiency We leveraged our Core Technology solutions, namely DreamFace, CodeFusion and API Czar to ease the implementation of this framework.
Beyond the framework, Cedrus provides few SF micro-apps that are relevant examples and can be immediately used by our customer: SF to Mainframe micro-app, and SF to IBM BPM micro-app. To note that this solution is not mutually exclusive with other SaleForce integration approaches, namely by data synchronization.

Financial Hub: Central tracking of Financial Events
Serverless Computing is gaining mainstream. IBM’s OpenWhisk or Amazon Lambda are some examples on how the industry is heading when it comes to high volume, highly scalable pub/sub based computing.
At Cedrus we have built an industry specific serverless architecture, with a layer of Semantic definition (Financial fraud) that proves the efficiency of such a design.
The Open nature of this architecture makes it particularly suitable for high traffic, high volume applications and where a 24×7 availability is needed.

Blockchain is a disruptive technology that is very promising. The applications that can be built on top of this Technology are endless and can touch a variety of industries.

Our first attempt to approach Blockchain resulted in building a “Loyalty points” platform allowing consumers of small retail vendors to subscribe to our platform and to be able to easily implement their own loyalty programs on top of it. This allows these vendors to share their loyalty programs between eachother and, hence, promote increased business.

Claim Pend Management: Insurance Claim Management
With the rapid changes in healthcare today, insurers have been faced with addressing the ever increasing costs of administration and the need to quickly expand into new markets with new offerings. Resolving Claim Pends is a time consuming and resource intensive process which also winds up being costly; in addition, delays in resolving a pended claim can also result in financial penalties if not settled within the SLA.
Claim Pend Management is an end-to-end solution for managing the lifecycle of a pended claim and providing a 360 degree view of all supporting information such as member benefits, claim history, claim authorization, etc. The Claim Pend Management solution also manages the workflow lifecycle of pend resolution and provides a world class application that allows the business operation to focus on high value work by leveraging the work prioritization and routing rules of the BPM engine. Collecting our own Health data in a safe place for further check, sharing, or insight is a “make sense” concept.
Our solution provides a Blockchain secured infrastructure to progressively build such a personalized record from feeds such as: patient input, EMR, or IOT devices.
Once aggregated, the platform provides a set of API’s to allow applications be built on top of this secured platform to provide values such as insight, historical trends lookup, etc.
